Whether for public transport authorities or transport companies, fare revenues are a challenge in themselves. Revenue management in local transport is fundamentally different from that in long-distance transport: in local transport the complexity is high due to many, usually overlapping tariffs, revenue sharing procedures are often hardly comprehensible for historical reasons. 

Even regular censuses and surveys often fail to shed light on the issue, as the quality of the data collected is not always beyond reproach. We focus in this area on the quality assurance of surveys, the evaluation of survey data and generation of transparency on demand and revenues as well as the moderation and control of processes for the redesign of revenue sharing procedures in transport associations.
